Founded originally in 1970 as the Literacy Council of Wake County, the Triangle Literacy Council (TLC) is the oldest Literacy Council in North Carolina and is celebrating 45 years! TLC is devoted to enriching the lives of adults, youth and children through literacy. TLC provides free and confidential tutoring for individuals to improve their reading, writing and speaking skills. We are a 501c3 non-profit organization and provide one-on-one tutoring free of charge. Last year TLC served more than 600 adults, 165 youth, and 125 children through its many varied programs.
