We hope you'll join us Thursday, April 27, at our annual #WorkersMemorialDay ceremony to remember the workers who died in Washington in 2016. The 79 men and women to be honored this year range in age from 19 to 90 and did all types of work in all areas of the state. Spouses, children, parents and friends of the fallen workers are expected at the ceremony, which will feature Governor Jay Inslee and representatives of the Association of Washington Business, the Washington State Labor Council and the Washington Self-Insurers Association.
Fallen workers from all walks of life will be remembered during an April 27 ceremony at the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries' (L&I) building in Tumwater.

Join the Safety Stand-Down today! Fall hazards are a serious problem that account for over 1,600 serious injuries in Washington State each year. Slips and trips, falls from ladders and falls from heights account for most of these injuries, which include dislocated limbs, broken bones and head injuries. Sadly, a number of workers die every year as a result. Most of these injuries can be prevented with training, awareness and proper work practices.
