JacobsWyper Architects was founded in 1981 by Terry Jacobs and Jamie Wyper. Headquartered in a historic building in Center City Philadelphia, the firm designs award-winning facilities for global pharmaceutical and biotech companies including Novartis, Johnson & Johnson and AstraZeneca, as well as for Amtrak, Wawa and Becton Dickinson; for university clients including Princeton, University of Pennsylvania, Swarthmore, University of Virginia and Duke, among others; and for museums and cultural institutions that include The Franklin Institute, the Independence Visitor Center Corporation, the Academy of Natural Sciences and the Chemical Heritage Foundation. In addition, JWA has completed projects as far abroad as Saudi Arabia, South Korea and China.
The firm has a long history with sustainable building practices and has designed many LEED-certified buildings, including the first LEED Gold project for the City of Philadelphia.
In 2014, SaylorGregg Architects joined JWA, resulting in a combination that brings a broader and deeper perspective, greater experience and more talent to our university and cultural projects.
