The Eating Disorder Foundation is a Denver-based, charitable non-profit organization. EDF has a full-time Program Director and Operations Administrator. Everyone else, including the Executive Director, are volunteers. EDF wants to influence and promote public awareness and concern for the detection, prevention, treatment and elimination of eating disorders. They want to creatively develop campaigns that remove the social stigma, silence and shame upon which this illness thrives. Because eating disorders are the number one killer of all mental illnesses, they make eating disorders a public health priority. EDF wants to change social attitudes, encourage people to get help, and promote healthy body image in addition to mobilizing support.
