Cassata is a private, nonprofit Catholic school in the Southside of Fort Worth that takes a progressive approach to helping students overcome obstacles to completing high school and pursuing post-secondary education or training.
Cassata’s academic model includes morning and afternoon sessions for those with scheduling constraints; small class sizes for personalized instruction; and an individualized, self-paced curriculum for those who want to work at their own pace.
Our students come to Cassata for a variety of reasons. Some are not challenged at their current school and seek an environment where they can reach their potential. Others must work to support their families or are suffering from health programs or anxiety issues. Last year, 73% of our students lived below the poverty level, and 44% had dropped out of their previous school.
Regardless of why students come to Cassata, they leave with the tools to succeed. Dual-enrollment courses are offered at Tarrant County College to qualified students free-of-charge, and all students work to pass the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) tests before they graduate. Last year, 100% of Cassata’s graduates went on to enroll in college, the military or trade school.
