Robert B. Wilson, II, MD Medical Director, Pain Management Specialist
Our Medical Director, Dr. Robert Wilson, II, is the founder of Piedmont Interventional Pain Care. For ten years, he has proudly served patients in Salisbury and greater Rowan County region. Dr. Wilson is board certified in both anesthesiology and pain medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Wilson completed his residency in anesthesiology and fellowship in pain medicine at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
He is trained in the latest pain management techniques and therapies and was the first in the Southeastern United States to implant a spinal cord stimulation system with a three lead array.
Dr. Wilson is an avid public speaker providing information to the public about the latest pain treatments. He also travels across the United States speaking to medical professionals for Medtronic, a global leader in medical technology dedicated to alleviating pain, restoring health and extending life for millions of people around the world.
Dr. Wilson began his medical career as a Critical Care Nurse and then worked several years as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. At the age of 34, he started medical school at the University of Oklahoma and nine years later, started his practice in Salisbury, North Carolina.
Dr. Wilson has been married for 34 years and has two children. Dr. Wilson, his wife and son completed the Kiawah Island Marathon this past year.
Elizabeth Ann Wood, MSN, FNP-C Certified Family Nurse Practitioner Pain Management Specialist
Mrs. Ann Wood is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and as a Pain Management Specialist through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (AANC). She is a member of the North Carolina Nurses Associate, American Society for Pain Management Nursing and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
Mrs. Wood has over 20 years of nursing experience in a variety of clinical settings and with all age groups including neonatal nursing, women's health and family practice with a focus in therapeutic pain management.
