We are Shelby County Community Outreach, known as SCCO. We are a faith-based, non-profit organization which is not affiliated with any particular church or group. Our goal is to distribute the love of Jesus in Shelby County through our services, and exemplify that love by our actions and lives.
Our founding mission was to provide small home repairs and maintenance to the elderly, disabled and low income residents of Shelby County. Since then we've maintained this aspect of our service, while also branching out into other areas of assistance. Among these are:
Hero's Attic - Our home furnishings center, where affordable items are made available to the public. We accept donations which are microwave size or larger.
Temporary Housing - Up to 30 days worth of transitional housing for those who have fallen upon hard times.
Mentoring - Adult and youth programs are available, which teach life skills with a biblical foundation.
Community Service - Organizing volunteer groups to go out and make a difference in our community and to serve where they are needed most.
