Tom Lahner and Courtney Nunneley took top honors and winners were crowned in a half dozen flights after the final round of the 50th annual City Open on Sunday at Alpena Golf Club. The 50th annual City Open began Saturday at River's Edge Golf Club. After the first round, a small ceremony was held in commemoration of the event's 50th year and organizers and former champions were recognized. Former champions in attendance included Gisela Schreier, Tyler Skiba, Jerry Skiba Jr., Bill Peterson, Dave Karschnick Jr., Tom Lahner, Brett Anderson, Mary Sue O’Brien, Maggie Skiba, Sue Geyer, Todd Skiba and Phil Straley.

The City Open has been a mainstay in Alpena for many years and the annual golf tournament will celebrate its 50 year this weekend.
