GLIDE offers comprehensive support services to San Francisco’s vulnerable and marginalized populations to overcome the barriers of poverty, violence, homelessness and substance use disorders. We provide a spiritual home for all through our uplifting Sunday Celebrations at 9:00 and 11:00 am every week.
GLIDE respects the dignity of every individual in our community, particularly during times of hardship. No matter how many times a person falls, they are always welcome at GLIDE and given another chance at recovering, rehabilitating, moving toward self-sufficiency and developing personally and spiritually.
GLIDE’s social services were launched in 1969 when a handful of volunteers began serving a Monday night meal to people on the street. Since then, GLIDE has become one of San Francisco’s largest and most comprehensive providers of innovative programs and services, including a Daily Free Meals Program, HIV/HepC Prevention, Harm Reduction, Walk-In Center, Family, Youth and Childcare Services, and Violence Intervention Programs.
