The town of Red Lodge is located in south central Montana at the base of the Beartooth/Absaroka Mountain Range. It is connected to Cooke City and Yellowstone National Park by the spectactular Beartooth All-American Road.
Red Lodge has an interesting past with its start as a rough, violent mining town. Western legends such as Calamity Jane and Buffalo Bill Cody visited Red Ldoge and Liver-Eatin' Johnson was the town's first Sheriff. Depression era saw bootlegging as the economic mainstay. Today Red Lodge is known as a top destination for outdoor recreation.

Beartooth All-American Road
"The most beautiful roadway in America". US Highway 212 is an alpine road winding over the Beartooth Mountains towards the northeast entrance of Yellowstone National Park. The pass climbs from an elevation of 5,555 feet at Red Lodge to an astounding 10,947 feet at the mountain top tundra. You will enjoy awesome mountain views, clear alpine lakes, unique plant life and an abundance of wild life. Set aside at least two hours for this 60 mile drive up to Cooke City but expect it to take three!
