We would like to a moment to publicly recognize two very special team members for their outstanding dedication and commitment. Johnathan Feathers, Behavior Therapist II and RBT; 5 years of providing high quality one to one ABA support to children whom we serve while fostering compassionate and collaborative relationships with their families. Johnathan understands the fundamentals of ABA and more importantly; children. He truly loves his work and the children that he serves and it shows! Johnathan also shines as a classroom aide, developing trusting and effective partnerships with educators in their classrooms. Jenelle Romine, Procurement Manager and Lead Admin; 10 years of participating in, developing and monitoring virtually every aspect of administration. She works tirelessly to ensure processes are in place for patient and staff hours coverage and oversees team communication systems. She leads staff and systems to ensure that therapy hours are documented accurately and billed appropriately. She works alongside families as they navigate the tough terrain of medical insurance funding, oversees organization IT functions, keeps the clinical team connected to Behavior Drive and just makes every single person feel supported. We could never fully capture in mere words the scope of her decade of excellence, like her fortitude, it is seemingly never ending. Johnathan and Jenelle we thank you for your gifts and talents and are excited to see what the future holds in your many, many more years at BEST!

Title: Teaching Visual Conditional Discriminations Using Errorless Learning: The Role of Prompts Requiring Simple and Conditional Discriminative Control Abstract: Errorless learning procedures were first developed in basic research laboratories with non-human subjects to teach simple (i.e., non-conditional) discriminations. Today, errorless procedures are widely used for teaching both simple and conditional discriminations, often to developmentally limited learners. The present article puts forward the idea that the stimulus control engendered by prompts in errorless learning procedures may also be classified as requiring simple versus conditional discriminative control. The present paper presents data comparing two errorless prompting procedures to teach visual conditional discriminations to six typically developing children and three children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). A matching-to-sample procedure with unfamiliar forms as visual stimuli was used. A comparison of two different prompts was conducted: prompts requiring simple discriminative control and prompts requiring conditional discriminative control. Results indicated that 8 of 9 participants acquired conditional discriminations in fewer trials when the prompts required conditional control; one child with ASD required fewer trials when prompts required simple discriminative control. Results suggest an advantage for teaching conditional discriminations using prompts requiring conditional discriminative control. CEUs will be offered: $10 SAABA members (must be current as of Fall 2016) $15 Non-members We hope to see you there! *A Sac State parking permit is required to be displayed while parked on campus.
