Long Hill Orchard and Farm has been in operation since 1896, when over 200 acres of land was planted with apple, pear, and peach trees. The Adams family has owned and operated the farm for almost 30 years, in which time they have introduced large ground crops, chickens, goats and turkeys. In 2007 we started our Community Supported Agricultural (CSA) program.
We employ sustainable growing practice with every crop. Our produce is grown using organic seeds and soil (please note that we are *not* certified organic, but grow our produce using organic standards and practices).
We use the IPM (Integrated Pest Management) method on all of our tree fruit crops.
In our store, we offer local dairy products (milk and cheese), local free-range eggs, our own honey, maple syrup, Stonewall Kitchen products, crafts by local artisans, locally-roasted coffee, our own baked goods, and more (depending on the season).

THE WEST NEWBURY CSA:
A partnership between farmer and consumer: We (the farmer) provide you (the shareholder) with a weekly pick-up of freshly harvested, chemical and pesticide free produce in exchange for your support of our sustainable growing methods.
The shares include weekly pick-ups of produce at Long Hill, as well as Pick-Your-Own vegetables, herbs, and flowers on the farm. The harvest season will run for approximately 22 distribution weeks, from June through October. Shareholders will receive a wide variety of organically-grown produce. Shareholders are also invited to enjoy the open space of our 150 acre farm for hiking, dog walking, picnics, etc.
The benefits of a CSA partnership between the consumer and the grower is the high quality organic produce, maintaining land in sustainable agriculture, strengthening the local economy, knowing your farmer and learning about environmentally-sustainable gardening practices.
