Woodlawn Cemetery Ofc

Woodlawn Cemetery is situated on nearly 80 acres of beautifully landscaped and naturally scenic vistas. Located on the west side of North Pearl Street in the City of Canandaigua makes it very easy to get to from any direction.

The cemetery offers a variety of options for cremation and casket burials. Single and multiple grave lots are available for casket burials as well as in-ground and above-ground areas for cremation burials. Modest fees and charges makes Woodlawn Cemetery appealling to everyone.


Woodlawn is owned and operated by a not-for-profit membership corporation called the Canandaigua Cemetery Association, Inc. In accordance with New York State Cemetery Law, this corporation is owned and operated by and for the mutual benefit of all Lot Owners.

The corporation is closely regulated, audited and inspected by the NYS Division of Cemeteries and operates in the public interest. The managers of the cemetery are all employees of the corporation, not owners. All proceeds from the operation of the cemetery are retained by the cemetery to be used exclusively for maintenance and development.

The long term care of both cemeteries is assured by the corporation’s Permanent Maintenance Fund (PMF). By law, at least 10% of the purchase price of every grave or niche must be placed into the PMF. In addition, $35 from every burial goes into the Fund. Assets of the PMF are professionally managed with the intent that the proceeds will be adequate to pay for the maintenance of the cemeteries after all sources of revenue have been exhausted.
