Dr. Edward Chen received his undergraduate degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He conducted research at Massachusetts General Hospital / Harvard Medical School. He received his medical degree at Temple University Medical School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He then completed his Internship and Residency in Anesthesiology at The New York Hospital-Cornell Medical School in New York City. During his Fellowship in Pain Management at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, he was appointed Chief Fellow.
Dr. Chen is Board Certified in Anesthesiology and has a Sub-specialty Board Certification in Pain Management.
He also is a licensed medical acupuncturist from the UCLA School of Medicine.
Dr. Chen came to Clearwater, Florida in 1995 to help establish Clearwater Pain Management Associates. His expertise is in the interventional management of chronic pain, with a special interest in back pain and cancer pain. Dr. Chen has published articles in scientific peer reviewed journals, and lectures nationally and internationally on topics regarding pain management.
was born and raised in northwest Indiana.
He received his undergraduate degree at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana in 1989, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He attended Medical School at Indiana University Indianapolis and graduated in 1993. He did his Internship at ’s Hospital in Indianapolis and finished his Anesthesiology Residency at Indiana University Indianapolis in 1997. He then completed a Pain Management Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati in 1998.
moved back to northwest Indiana where he worked at the Centers for Pain Management in Merrillville, Indiana.
joined Clearwater Pain Management Associates in January 2001.
His hobbies include golf, cooking, music and travel.
