PRETTY POISONOUS Lilies are blooming in many yards this time of the year. This is a reminder that lilies (including day lilies and calla lilies), are extremely toxic to cats. If you have a cat, don't bring lilies into your home. If you have lilies in your yard, don't allow your cat into your yard. If your cat consumes any part of a lily, contact your veterinarian immediately. It is an emergency and time is of the essence to save the cat's life.


Starting this Wednesday, June 14th, we will be bringing back our Wednesday late nights now with Dr. Annie! Please use this time to schedule your pet's annual exams. 🙂

Ark of the Dunes Animal Hospital is happy to announce the addition of a new Veterinarian to our team! Dr. Annie Van Proyen, DVM, is a 2017 graduate of the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine, and is a lifelong resident of Chesterton, Indiana. Dr. Annie also attended Purdue for her undergraduate studies in Animal Sciences. Her veterinary interests include internal medicine, dermatology, geriatric care, and low stress handling. She loves opportunities to make both pets and owners feel comfortable and happy during their visit to the clinic. She is excited to meet all of our wonderful clients!
