This page is run by a local volunteer in order to help with adoptions and rescues of the animals at the animal control, and to advertise the need for donations of supplies to the shelter.
The Montgomery County Animal Control is located in a rural area and does not have access to the funds and resources that many shelters may have. In 2012, WRAL reported that the shelter had a kill rate of 99% being the highest in the state. With the help of social media, volunteers, rescue groups and generous donations, the rate has dramatically decreased, however, we need the public's help and support in order for the rate to continue to improve.
