Library Clerks and Secretary: These ladies and gents hold down the library with its day to day operations. Without their constant tireless work, we would not be meeting the needs of our patrons. They are the first point of contact when you visit our library and will be the ones wishing you well when you leave our doors.
In the words of the Library Director, Alexandra Eberle:
Libraries will ALWAYS be needed. It is just that our collections may not be made up of mainly books anymore. Libraries are ever evolving machines. We operate under tight and restricted budgets, rules and procedures, excitement and ingenuity, and under the scrutiny of the public. Without the public we would not have an existence. Our job is to provide the patrons of our communities and anyone who is in need of information of any kind, the services that they require and even wish for. We are now a hub; a community center where members of all ages congregate to meet each other, read a good book, participate in an awesome program, and/or use our many other services that we provide. Our collections now are diverse and when we say collections, it is not just books as was noted above. Collections today, have many different formats that have many different information and topics. This information will range from educational to entertaining. As I was reading The American Libraries publication by ALA, I saw a quote that really stood out. Ruth Ozeki once said, “Librarians are the guardians of a certain kind of generous social vision.” Libraries are here to provide you’re the formats that are still relevant in today’s society. Some libraries are able to have special collections of things or even formats that are not as relevant today as it was yesterday. We are here to show you how to correctly find the data that you need online, through your e-Reader, and even the traditional way, through a book. We will always be evolving and adapting to meet the needs of its users and to make sure that we have what others may not. It is a place where you can come and borrow something while being able to save. I implore you to come and visit our libraries. Our doors will always be open and welcoming you for a new adventure.
