What began as the Florida Methodist Orphanage in 1908 has grown into a diverse and complex ministry to meet the various needs of those who turn to us for help. With the addition of the Madison Youth Ranch in Pinetta, we are able to help more children, in more places, and in more ways. We also recruit foster parents through our Open Hearts Family Services program. As well as helping young adults with our Independent Living program.
Our services include residential care, emergency shelter care, therapeutic group care, independent living, foster care, and a community child care center.
The length of stay for a resident varies from a few weeks to several years. Each child is an individual and the time in residence will be influenced by the complexity of the problems they and their families face and the progress they can make in dealing with those problems. The best interests of the child are always of primary concern to the program of the Home.
Each year, on average, about 65%-70% of our total funding comes from private sources. Strong church support enables the program of the Home to maintain its ministry as a Christian outreach of our commitment to children.
