Local history and our area has plenty! ty JL :)
One morning November 7th, 1814, Andrew Jackson's forces approached the small town of Pensacola. The attack was a small scale clearing of Spanish soldiers and Jackson's army was smaller in comparison to the troops he would end up leading in New Orleans. In Pensacola the Spanish resitance was very weak and the British did not want to get involved, leaving the Spanish alone. With one push Jackson and his men stopped the British threat of entering Florida and pushed away the straggling British . Simultaneously, Jackson made it impossible for future Spanish and British cooperation without the help of the United States Government. This small battle was a larger leap towards the final destination of the War of 1812... The Battle of New Orleans.

Interesting! ty JL :)

In order to make America great again, we must capture the hearts, minds and imaginations of our children again the same way ours were impressed. With teachers. Our country needs people who will answer the call. Our favorite quote this month comes from one of the greatest gifted education teachers that Santa Rosa County has ever had. Her reminder of this wisdom is how we can help children to learn responsibility and duty. Let us demand a living wage for teachers and hope that more like her step up for the future of our country! "When we speak we are afraid our words will not be heard or welcomed. But when we are silent, we are still afraid. So it is better to speak." —Audre Lorde ty Glenn Rutland :)
