Meet Dr. Joshua K. Fernandes. Dr. Fernandes was born and raised in Ruston, LA. He was inspired to pursue a career in ophthalmology in part by his mother, who went blind due to an inherited retinal disease. His mother was the founding director of the Louisiana Center for the Blind in Ruston, where he has spent countless hours working with the blind and visually impaired. From these experiences, he developed a passion for helping those with eye disease. Dr. Fernandes joined Dr. Barron at The Eye Clinic in 2014.

Meet Dr. Joseph B. Barron. Dr. Barron is a native of Spearsville, LA in Union Parish. He became board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in 1977. He came home after serving as a medical officer in the U.S. Army for thirteeen years to practice at The Eye Clinic in 1986. Dr. Barron enjoys using his many years of experience to serve our community and his patients with excellent care.
