The Candy Store on the Square was opened in 1997 by the Bertelsen family of Denton. It has remained owned, managed and staffed entirely by family members since then.
Located on the Historic Courthouse Square. The store features the finest gourmet chocolates, Large Dessert Truffles and unique chocolate treats. Our chocolates are all made using the finest, all natural ingredients with no preservatives or artificial flavors.
We also have a large selection of hard candies, unique as well as rare nostalgic items. All the candies offered are made in the US or from Europe.
We also have a full line of Diabetic-safe, sugar-free chocolates and candies.
Since we are originally from the Rocky Mountains, we offer many Wild Rocky Mountain Huckleberry items such as Cordials, white chocolate bark, Gummy Bears, Jelly Beans, Stick Candy, Honey, Tea, Jam and Preserves. We also have Huckleberry Soda!
The Candy Store features the finest in gourmet, slow roasted coffee. We partnered with an independent world coffee importer who travels the world and hand selects their coffee. They buy only from the top 10% of Select crop and only “fair trade”. They are one of the only “Slow Roast” processors left in the states. All coffee beans are roasted at a lower, more carefully controlled temperature and for a longer duration. This process produces a finished coffee that is completely free from any burnt or acrid taste as found in fast-roast coffees.
We stock about 24 different coffees (both straight and also flavors). Our flavored coffees are done with only natural ingredients including extracts as well as bits and pieces of the flavor items. No artificial flavors, sugars or syrups are used.
A selection of Decaffeinated coffees are also available and are all “European Water Process” decaffeinated (a process that doesn’t require the use of chemicals).
The store also has a great selection of unique gifts and cards.
The Coffee is always on as well as a selection of 6 or 7 flavors of Hot Cocoa, canned sodas and all flavors of IBC in bottles.
