Blastcrete Equipment Co. is a closely held family owned international manufacturer of specialized mixing, pumping and spraying equipment. Blastcrete was founded in 1950 by Jim Douglas of Los Angeles. The company was purchased by the present owner in 1983 and the company was moved to Anniston AL. The pumping product line includes ultra high pressure hydraulic swing tube pumps, hydraulic squeeze (peristaltic) pumps and a ball seat pump. The mixing product line includes a 2200 pound capacity hydraulic turbine (pan) mixer, hydraulic spiral mixers, a two stage continuous mixer with infinitely variable output up to 800 pounds per minute and refractory pre dampeners and mixers. Blastcrete also manufactures the Blastcrete Gun, a rotary gunite machine that features the Original Piccola clamping system, and in 2010 introduced the Dampcon Rig, a portable trailer mounted predampener and gunite machine on a high speed trailer for light weight and conventional refractory materials as well as in-the-field mixing of Portland based gunite material. Blastcrete’s innovative products result from personal communication with its customers who have come to enjoy the personal service provided by all employees in the Blastcrete organization.
Primary markets include refractory equipment for the installation of refractory materials for steel, cement, power plants, petro chemical, OSB, glass and paper; shotcrete equipment, casting equipment and spraying for refractory, construction, tunnels, mining, pre-cast, Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF), Structural Concrete Insulated Panels (SCIP) and form and pour.
Blastcrete also provides mixing, pumping and spraying equipment for floor underlayment, pavement overlays, stucco, plaster, concrete repairs, hot epoxy, pools and soil stabilization. Blastcrete offers free training to its customers on the proper operation and maintenance of its equipment, as well as assistance in basic mix designs and specialized spraying applications at its 1600 sq. ft. training facility. The facility is also utilized by material manufacturing customers in the development of refractory, concrete construction and concrete repair materials.
