The Children's Advocacy Center provides assessments, counseling, and other services to children who are victims of sexual or severe physical abuse.
CAC was established in 1995 by the Spartanburg County Board on Domestic Violence, the Spartanburg County Medical Alliance, and community child abuse agencies. CAC opened its doors as a nonprofit agency in 1996. Since then, CAC has helped nearly 4,000 boys and girls who have been sexually or physically abused.
CAC could not succeed without the collaboration of its community partners, united in helping abused children heal and bringing perpetrators of abuse to justice.
CAC's partners include: Spartanburg Department of Public Safety, the Spartanburg, Union, and Cherokee County Sheriff’s Offices, the Spartanburg, Cherokee, and Union County Departments of Social Services, the 7th and 16th Circuit Solicitors' Offices, the Guardian Ad Litem program, SAFE Homes-Rape Crisis Coalition, Greenville Hospital System/Dr. Nancy Henderson, MD, and the Spartanburg Area Mental Health Center.
