écarté dance theatre was established in 1981 as a contemporary dance company in the Dover area. Dedicated to dance performance throughout the state of Delaware, the group's major performing concentration is within Kent County. The company seeks to offer its audience productions drawn from a variety of dance forms and to explore and integrate other art forms in the performance works it offers. The company endeavors to serve the community through presenting the dignity of the human condition in a specific and a universal way through the art of dance. Dancers of all ages and ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to offer their unique gifts in an effort to present as rich and true a statement as possible.
