District Health Department #10 was formed October 1, 1997, through the consolidation of four health departments into one organization. DHD #10 is the largest geographical health department in Michigan and is the tenth largest based upon population.

DHD # 10 Public Comments Policy:
A. Users and visitors to social media sites are notified that the intended purpose of the site is to serve as a mechanism for communication between DHD # 10 initiatives, services, timely health risk messaging, and members of the public.
B. District Health Department # 10 will monitor all public comments made when utilizing social media tools.
C. Where moderation of comments is an available option, comments from the public will be moderated by District Health Department # 10 designated staff editors.
D. District Health Department # 10 reserves the right to remove published content that does not comply with privacy policies and the moderation rules set forth below;
1. Hate speech
2. Profanity, obscenity or vulgarity
3. Nudity in profile pictures
4. Defamation to a person or people
5. Comments whose main purpose are to sell products
6. Comments that DHD # 10 deems inappropriate
7. Invades anyone's privacy or impersonates anyone
8. Is far off-topic or contains irrelevant information, and
9. Content that encourages conduct that may or would constitute a criminal offense or give rise to civil liability, or that otherwise violates any local, state, national or international law or regulation anywhere in the world.
E. Content posted to the site, social media or blog will be retained as determined by each program.
F. DHD # 10 does not accept any liability for the content or accuracy of any material submitted by users and published by the Agency.
G. DHD # 10 makes no representations or warranties of any kind, expressed or implied, including warranties of accuracy, in regards to any material published on the social media tool.
H. Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Agency in full and permanently against any third party liabilities, claims, costs, expenses (including legal costs) loss or damage (including consequential loss) incurred by the Agency as a result of publishing any material you submit to us via this blog, site or social media tool.
