Tri-Pak Machinery, Inc. Designs and builds high quality,
custom packing house equipment for the fresh produce industry. We also design and build the best shrimp grading machinery available, and an extensive line of industrial ice crushers.

Tri-Pak began as a small family organization in 1934, in a one-car garage in Harlingen, Texas, where Fitzgerald invented and built his first tomato machine.

It was a struggling business venture for (better known in the business as ("Bob"), but he knew that he had a product that was definitely needed in the produce business, having worked for many years, along with his wife, Vestal, in fruit and vegetable packing sheds throughout Texas. The Fitzgerald’s were among the pioneers in mechanizing the produce industry.

The first shop building was built on North Commerce Street in Harlingen in 1939, and Bob moved his operations from the outgrown garage to the new facilities. An office building followed, and later on, a foundry building was added to make the cast metal parts for the (then) wooden machines, inasmuch as the parts needed were seldom readily available. Bob's determination was strong, as was his belief in his machines, and he knew that with hard work he could make his company grow and prosper. His philosophy stressed quality, quantity and uniformity, which became the motto of his small but thriving business. The three sides of the triangle chosen for the company logo represent these three goals, and thus the name of the company, Tri-Pak Machinery, was formed.

Over the years, more buildings have been added while the Tri-Pak facility has expanded to include the design and manufacture of equipment for packing onions, carrots, potatoes, cucumbers, citrus fruit, cabbage, shrimp and other items. The most modern technology has continued to be incorporated in the manufacturing process and the firm's reputation for quality, dependability and service has grown worldwide.

Tri-Pak's machinery can be found in operation in Great Britain, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, several of the countries in Central and South America,
Africa and the Caribbean Islands as well as all across the United States.

Tri-Pak will continue to look ahead to better and more efficient machinery, utilizing the newest technology and ideas available.

Tri-Pak is presently being managed by the second and third generation of Fitzgerald’s. Alan C. Fitzgerald and his three sons David, Jim and Bob along with his son-in-law Dan Groves and vice president, Charles Kilbourn continue to work toward making Tri-Pak a manufacturer of the finest machinery available by keeping the tradition of quality, quantity and uniformity originally started in that small garage over 75 years ago.
