Each lead-free piece is made with hands-on care, whether cast, hammered, or spun. Over 100 pieces of traditional and contemporary designs are available for sale. Baby cups, dinner ware, candlesticks, lamps, jewelry and ornaments are all popular items. Wedding registry with Gibson Pewter is a unique gift choice. And, the porringers and tea service fashioned after historic pieces hark back to time-honored New England values.
Jon is a state juried member of the League of Craftsmen. He has also been named by Early American Life Magazine among the top 200 traditional American craftsmen since 1993. The Gibson Fruit Bowl and Wood-grain Beaker were the only pieces of 20th century pewter taken into the permanent collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
Gibson Pewter was founded in 1966 by Raymond Gibson and run as a seasonal family “cottage” business for more than 20 years. Today, Jonathan Gibson carries on the family business in Historic Washington Center, NH.
The Gibson Pewter shop is open year round: Monday – Saturday, 10am – 4pm. Visitors are welcome to watch work in progress.
