In the 1920's "T. J. Truitt Marble and Granite Works" opened in what was a delivery stable. In 1957, Samuel James Disharoon IV ("Buddy") purchased the business and changed its name to Salisbury Monument Company. Buddy, with the help of his son Samuel James Disharoon V ("SJ" ) and provided Salisbury and surrounding areas with world-class granite and marble monuments. In the 1970's, SJ bought the company from his father. With the help of his wife Wanda and his granddaughter Kristin, Salisbury Monument provides customers with a unique monument that will last for generations to come.
