Social Network Policy for Alabama Historic Ironworks Commission
The Alabama Historic Ironworks Commission (AHIC) is the governing commission of Brierfield Ironworks Historical State Park and Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park. The AHIC defines social networks as Social networking web-sites allow registered users to upload profiles, post comments, join "networks" and add "friends." They give registered users the opportunity to form "links" between each other based on friendships, hobbies, personal interests, and business sector or academic affiliations.
The AHIC uses the social network Facebook to advertise both Brierfield Ironworks Historical State Park and Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park events, introduce the facilities to our fans through photos, and fulfill request for information. Any person who uses the site to post things that harass, threaten, libel, malign, defame, disparage or discriminate against organizations, co-workers, managers, customers, or anyone else will be blocked from the site and the offending comment or photo deleted.
Employees of AHIC must not use social media to threaten, libel, malign, defame, disparage or discriminate against organizations, co-workers, managers, customers, or anyone else. Do not reference or site partners, or customers without their express consent. In all cases, do not publish any information regarding a customer or coworker during the engagement. Respect copyright laws, and reference or cite sources appropriately. Plagiarism applies online as well. Company logos and trademarks may not be used without written consent. AHIC expects ethical and honest behavior from all its employees, at all times. Thus, any information exchanged on-line must be absolutely accurate. Employees who are found in violation of this policy will be subject to discipline outlined in the Alabama Historic Ironworks Commission Personnel Manual.
