Walnut High School is one of two comprehensive high schools and one of fifteen schools that comprise the Walnut Valley Unified School District. It was the first high school in this district admitting its first classes in 1968. The school is located in the foothills of Southern California’s East San Gabriel Valley. A predominately middle and upper-middle income community, residents enjoy access to all the professional, business, cultural and athletic opportunities available in downtown Los Angeles and Orange County. Within 40 miles of the community are three UC campuses, three CSU campuses, four community colleges and a number of local and internationally known private institutions of higher learning. Walnut High School is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (six year accreditation to 2024). It is recognized for it’s outstanding academic, arts and athletics pathways and programs including IBDP, IBCP, AP, PLTW—Biomedical Sciences, PLTW—Computer Science, Academic Design Program, Academic Foundations, WHS School of the Arts and ROP Career Pathways.
