The Urban Land Conservancy (ULC), a nonprofit organization established in 2003, uses real estate as a tool to benefit urban communities. In much the same way that a land trust preserves open space for future generations, we preserve community assets in urban areas to ensure their continued benefit.
* Our mission is to acquire, develop, and/or preserve community assets in urban areas for a variety of community needs such as schools, affordable housing, and office space for nonprofits. * Our assets consist of real estate and significant seed capital to be leveraged using public and private sources for future community investment. * Our work includes land banking and community-inspired real estate development or, more concisely, community development.
