Dance Arts Studio to join the Dewitt - Fayetteville - Manlius Community
After 30 years of providing nurturing dance education to Syracuse & Onondaga County, the Dance Arts Studio & Center of Movement Studies will be expanding. The Dance Arts Studio will be combining forces with the wellness community at the Koinonia Fayetteville Athletic Club, located across from Wegmans Dewitt. The studio will offer classes in creative movement, ballet, modern, jazz & musical theater style dance.
The goal of the Dance Studio is that the student, through process implementation, will grasp the spirit of life, manifestation of feelings, consistency of learning and the ability to create from their own personal level. Through the language of movement (dance), our hope is that the student will be able to recognize energy, texture, line, and emotion. It is of the utmost importance that each student understands they can perceive and create without judgment. It is our intent that our dance students will be able to see the world from a more aesthetic point of view, enriching their lives and offering them an entry, from which they may appreciate all movement, In every walk of life. Under the direction of founder & artistic Director, Linda Facciponte, the studio will provide students, nurturing dance in a noncompetitive environment. Linda, a graduate of New York University holds a Master of Arts Degree in Dance Education through the Arts/Interdisciplinary Arts for Children with a Dance Emphasis and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education, with two permanent New York Certifications: Elementary Education and Dance Education (k - 12). She has studied extensively in the following techniques: Ballet Hispanico, Merce Cunningham, Alvin Ailey, Martha Graham, & Jose Limon’ and provides a unique modern blend that is all her own.
Mrs. Facciponte’s high standards and nurturing spirit are the driving forces that places personal growth and spiritual wellness above all else at the studio. She has promoted many dance students into the dance world and personally assists students with academic placement into colleges, universities, and conservatories. Whether you are just beginning on the path of dance or have experience, here at DAS, the staff will help guide, instruct, teach, nurture and support you on your journey.
