Metal Supermarkets on YouTube:
The first Metal Supermarkets store was established outside Toronto, Ontario in 1985 by William “Bill” H. Mair, a veteran of the metals industry with 30 years’ experience heading a multinational aluminum company. Bill envisioned a new kind of metals distributor that would cater to small quantity buyers and serve a wide and diverse range of industries – while providing efficient, personable service. As the amount of locations increased, Metal Supermarkets’ unique business model quickly attracted many buyers and soon became a homegrown franchise sensation. Within a decade, Metal Supermarkets expanded into the United Kingdom, and in 1995, Metal Supermarkets opened its first American store.
Over the years, the core principles of our business have remained the same: wide-ranging products processed to customers’ exact specifications and fast, personable service, with absolutely no minimum quantity. While we remain true to our founder’s principles, our unique customer-centric approach has evolved over the years. The range of processing services we provide is broader, and in addition to our “bricks and mortar” locations, our online store offers the opportunity for customers to purchase metal 24/7.
If it is your first time visiting Metal Supermarkets, expect to be met by an expert team of knowledgeable and experienced staff who are dedicated to providing solutions for your metal-related needs. With over 28 years in the small quantities metal distribution business, we’re your one-stop shop. What started out as a single location is now the undisputed leader in the small quantity metals market. Although Metal Supermarkets has expanded its reach, with locations across four countries, we continue to stay true to our roots of efficient and personable service through a network of franchised stores.
