ChildStrive provides supports and services through three main programs: 1) Early Intervention serves children birth to three with disabilities or delays and their parents. Services are provided in the child’s home or other natural learning environment by a team of providers including a special educator; speech, physical and occupational therapists; and a counselor or social worker. We help parents use daily routines to improve the development of their children. Services are provided in Snohomish and North King County. 2) Nurse-Family partnership connects first time pregnant moms who are 25 and under with a nurse who provides regular home visits through the pregnancy and until the child turns two. The program ensures a healthy pregnancy and infant, helps support the mom’s transition into motherhood, helps support the child’s development, and helps the mom identify her own “heart’s desire” and make a plan to achieve it. 3) Outreach Services provide supports to families and partner organizations to help support the development of children whose families have some risk factors such as homelessness. Our partnership with Tulalip Childcare, Tomorrow’s Hope Childcare, and all of the family shelters in the county allow us to screen preschoolers and connect them with services as well as consult with providers. In addition, our Parents As Teachers program provides home visiting services for homeless families and our drop in play groups are provided in four locations for a total of six groups per week.
