Methamphetamine is a highly addictive stimulant (that is closely related to amphetamine). It is long lasting and toxic to dopamine nerve terminals in the central nervous system. Ephedrine is a stimulant and widely used for weight loss, as an energy booster, and to enhance athletic performance. These products often contain other stimulants, such as caffeine, which may have synergistic effects and increase the potential for adverse effects in the body. Ephedrine is used in many dangerous narcotics often referred to as "Designer Drugs" like MDMA (Ecstasy), Ketamine, GHB, Rohypnol, LSD (acid), and methamphetamine.
