Ackerman-Estvold Engineering and Management Consulting, Inc. shared Friends of The Souris River's event.
On Saturday, April 22 we'll be riding the Souris River from the Dakota Bark Park to Roosevelt Park. Along the way, we'll stop and talk about how flood protection is going to impact various neighborhoods. We'll also take a few minutes to imagine what the river would look like if we're able to restore our 'now-dead' loops back to active river channel. You're free to join us for the whole ride or drop in on the sections that are of most interest to you. And it's a family friendly event, so check your tires, find your helmet and join us next Saturday on a visual tour of Minot's river future. An approximate schedule of stops follows below: 10:00 a.m. | Dakota Bark Park Representatives of Ackerman Estvold Engineering will present on how flood protection will impact the immediate area in the near-term and the future. 10:40 a.m. | Water Treatment Plant (North Side of River) Representatives of Ackerman Estvold Engineering will present on flood protection impacts the area in the near-term and future. 11:30 | Oak Park (Near Compost Bins & 4th Ave Bridge) Friends of the Souris River will present on how opening the ‘now-dead’ loop that runs around Oak Park would impact the area. 12:15 | Empty Lot West of Home Sweet Home Dan Jonasson with the City of Minot will present on the Phase 1 flood protection plans for the area. 12:45 | 3rd Street Viaduct Underpass (North & East Side of the River) Friends of the Souris will present on flood protection impacts to NE Minot and the Ben’s Tavern neighborhoods. 1:15 | Roosevelt Park Becky Dewitz will present on future impacts and plans for the Roosevelt Park Zoo. There will be rides back to the Bark Park at the end, but a contingent of riders is expected to head for Downtown as well to enjoy the live music and events on Main Street surrounding National Record Store Day. Plans for the Souris Valley Animal Shelter remodel and addition. #architecture #minot #adoptapet

Ackerman-Estvold Engineering and Management Consulting, Inc. shared a post.
The Souris Valley Animal Shelter revealed the plans for their addition/remodel/capital campaign this weekend during the Evening To Paws Gala. We were happy to be a part of it and bring their vision to life! What a great way to wrap up #archweek17.
I'd like to thank everyone who made this year's Evening to Paws gala the most successful gala in the history of the Souris Valley Animal Shelter. We would like to thank our sponsors, our volunteers, our auctioneers John and Bill, our MCs Alex and Andre, the staff and board of the SVAS, the professional staff at the Grand Hotel and all others who made the evening great. The pictures below are the designs for our capital campaign. The capital campaign will consist of two phases. The first phase will focus on an addition to our existing building. Our friends at Ackerman-Estvold generously donated these plans to help us give you an idea of our plans for the future. Some of the highlights from the plan include a 34X44 multipurpose room designed to give our pets a place to burn of energy during the dangerous North Dakota winters, a Spay/Neuter clinic designed to sterilize all pets that are adopted through us before they go home as well as focusing on our Trap/Neuter/Release program, and finally a Doggie Day Care/Groomer whose profits will go directly into our Spay/Neuter Clinic. The first phase will cost $1.4 million which we already have $380,000 raised. To help phase one, simply text 701-402-3002 and type in the amount you wish to donate. You will then receive a text message asking for your payment information. After those two steps are completed you have added to the success of this remodel. If texting isn't for you, you can visit to find a tab that will enable you to donate. THE SVAS IS DEPENDING ON YOUR HELP!!!! If you have any questions about this project please feel free to call Kristine Seabolt, Justin S Anderson or myself at 852-6133 Tuesday-Saturday. We will gladly answer your questions concerning the campaign. Thank you all for helping the SVAS reach 40 years old. Let's rebuild to ensure there is another 40!!!!
