United Claims Service was founded as a direct result of Hurricane Hugo in 1989. We handled Hurricane Hugo claims from the inception of the storm, September 22, 1989, until March 1991. A total of 18 months. At the end of that time United Claims Service had established itself as a loyal and reliable partner.
Subsequent to Hurricane Hugo, United Claims Service was fortunate to be given the opportunity to handle daily overflow claims as well as storm claims in the Carolinas. From that simple beginning we have never looked back.
We maintain a close working relationship with the companies with whom we do business. We have been deliberate in our growth and have not tried to be all things to all companies. We value our relationships and are pointing our growth to compliment our current business, which is concentrated in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.
In looking to add a more national approach to both our daily claims handling and storm business, we have, over the last several years, expanded our adjuster database, and instituted an online UCS Training Program. This allows not only adjusters to keep abreast of changes and adjusting requirements, but also encourages input from companies regarding adjuster training and qualifications for handling both daily and storm claims.
We are excited about the future of United Claims Service and look forward to continuing our innovative approach to the claims handling business
