Different than a bank, our customers are “members,” meaning that when you do business with UMe, you’re a part-owner. Credit unions are not-for-profit. That’s a great thing because profits that are made by UMe directly benefit our membership. This translates into higher savings rates, better loan rates and lower fees to you.

Ahead of our peers, as an organization we are focused on newer and better ways to make it easier for you to manage your funds. We offer Online Banking with BillPay and Mobile Banking, all for free on your accounts. There is a better banking solution, and it’s UMe.

A little bit about our history.
OK, so we weren’t always named UMe. The credit union—which was previously called Burbank Community Federal Credit Union—was chartered in 1940 by a group of Burbank Unified School District teachers. Back then, the credit union operated out of a teacher’s desk drawer.

Today we are around 12,000 members strong and growing! And although our services and products have been upgraded and expanded, we remember our roots and we’re proud to continue a tradition that is true to our word and built on real people.
