CVIC was started in 1980, and aims to build a violence-free community.

*Works together for justice, peace and the elimination of oppression.

*Works individually and collectively to give voice to the voiceless and involve the community in their efforts to end violence.

CVIC offers 5 programs:

Encompassing our Light of Hope Shelter, Hope Transitional Housing, career counseling, and Bright Futures children's services and legal services. Light of Hope provides crisis and supportive services, refuge and housing support for disadvantaged adults and at-risk children impacted by family violence and sexual assault.

Pathways Toward Justice Program
CVWP provides court advocacy to victims of personal injury and property crimes, including assault, stalking, burglary and other crimes.

New Choices
Prevents violence by providing group treatment for batterers and collaborating extensively with the criminal justice system.

Kids First Visitation Program
Offers safe visitations and exchanges to ensure the safety of children at risk of abuse.

Community Innovations
This program provides education and training to raise awareness of and improve our response to violence. It also incorporates the Greater Grand Forks Domestic Violence Task Force's Coordinated Community Response (CCR) Project, and the Domestic Violence Prevention Enhancement and Leadership Through Alliances (DELTA) Project.
