CITY OF PAMPA'S FACEBOOK USER AGREEMENT

The City of Pampa will promote effective communication and maintain a respectful dialogue. In that spirit, the rules set forth for posting comments on Facebook will facilitate a productive and open forum for community discussion. Our moderators use these rules to ensure that posted comments are constructive and suitable for all readers, while respecting a range of opinions and points of view.

Posted comments must comply with the following standards:

• Comments must be civil and may not contain slanderous, libelous, malicious, offensive, obscene, pornographic, sexual, threatening, profane or insulting language, symbol, photo, video or sound, or links to such material.

• References to the personality of individuals or personal attacks will not be permitted.

• Content that promotes, fosters or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or mental disability, or sexual orientation is not allowed.

• Advertising, solicitations or promotional announcements not related to the City of Pampa are not permitted.

• Comments must be within the scope of the topic under discussion.

• Beyond one’s name, comments cannot include personally identifiable information, such as an address, phone number, social security number or other sensitive information.

• Comments cannot represent a person other than the one posting the comment, unless one has legal authority to do so.

• Comments containing links to other websites or pages must be relevant to the topic.

• Comments cannot serve electoral campaign purposes, for or against any candidate, party or proposition. Political messages will not be published.

• Participants are responsible for what they post. Comments must not breach any law, confidentiality or copyright.

• Comments cannot encourage or promote illegal activity;

• Comments cannot include information that may compromise the safety or security of the public or public systems.

Comments by external parties on the City’s Facebook page are not official public testimony concerning any project or program. An opinion expressed on the City’s Facebook page is posted for discussion only and is not a substitute for a public hearing. The City of Pampa does not necessarily agree with content posted by Facebook fans or others. Facebook constitutes no binding representation, agreement or an endorsement on the part of the City of Pampa. When you follow the City's Facebook page, you are certifying that you have understood and agree to the above conditions. If the City of Pampa believes or has reason to believe that information you have posted violates the above rules and standards, the comment will be removed, the participant could be subject to being reported to Facebook and blocked from the City's Facebook page. This agreement is governed by a separate Privacy Policy and Statement of Rights and Responsibilities as set forth by Facebook. Elected officials are cautioned against participation in private chat or a string of posts that involves a quorum of elected officials discussing public business.
