The spotlight today is on ABM’s Rick Wood, chairperson for the recent 2017 Houston Stroll for Epilepsy #stroll17, and his team who helped raised nearly $160,000 for those facing the daily struggles of epilepsy. The Epilepsy Foundation of Texas event rallied more than 1,500 people to stroll the Houston Zoo in an effort to stop seizures, find cures and save lives. Wood’s own Stroll team comprised four of his family members and several local ABM colleagues donated to their efforts. In total, Wood’s team raised $2,350 – enough to send two kids with epilepsy to one-week of Camp Spike ‘n’ Wave this summer! Rick has functioned as the Epilepsy Foundation of Texas Treasurer, Vice President, President in Houston, President for the State of Texas and currently serves on the Board of Directors. Thanks, Rick, for sharing your talents and compassion for such a worthy cause! Featured in the photo are Wood at the far right; honorary guest Ricky Williams, 1999 Heisman Trophy Winner and 11-year veteran of the National Football League; and staff members for the Epilepsy Foundation of Texas.

This year, ABM sponsored Walk MS: Seattle and ABMers from our Seattle Janitorial Operations team came out to support the cause. These folks walked alongside and in direct support of Angela Missler, a friend of ABM and the reason we got involved in this event. MS has touched the lives of many of our team members and customers in Seattle, which is why raising awareness and funding research around this debilitating disease is so close to their hearts. Here’s to the Seattle Janitorial Ops team for making a difference for Angela and many others!
