Having lost both of her parents to cancer, Pattie Cagney Sheehan discovered a passion that would become her life’s second act. In 2008 she opened Second Act, a boutique serving cancer patients and survivors with a special emphasis on individuals who have undergone breast surgery, chemotherapy and/or radiation. This is why Second Act has developed strong relationships with other resources such as Flourish Studios, A Silver Lining Foundation and many non-profits. Pattie is a BOC Certified Mastectomy Fitter and Second Act is the only ABCOP accredited shop in downtown Chicago that sells wigs and post-breast surgery products all in one location. Additionally, Second Act was named New Venture of the Year for 2009 by the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Chicago. Second Act is an approved Medicare provider and also accepts private insurance.
