This event is a nationally recognized 10-kilometer ("10k") road race ( miles) that is held annually the Saturday before Easter. More than 20,000 entrants annually traverse the fast, point to point course that starts by the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, crosses through Jackson Square and finishes in City Park. The course is a USATF sanctioned and certified 10,000 meters where a world best was recorded in 2002. The race is also complemented by a great Expo and features a fabulous post race festival.
