HSNEGA also offers a wide range of education and community outreach programs for all age groups.
HSNEGA operates as a selective admission shelter, meaning we do not euthanize based on space or duration of stay. Instead, HSNEGA intakes owner surrendered animals and rescued animals from more than a dozen other humane organizations, rescue groups, and shelters throughout northeast Georgia. On average, we rescue 1,500+ animals each year.
Approximately half of our income comes from donations, including private donations (individual and corporate donors) and fundraising events. HSNEGA is independent and receives no monies from county, state or federal governments, or other humane organizations .
