San Francisco Botanical Garden

People depend on plants for the oxygen we breathe, the food we eat, and the beauty that comforts the soul. The more we understand and cherish the interconnectedness of all life on Earth, the more we will do to conserve and sustain life on our planet. This core belief guides the work of San Francisco Botanical Garden.

The Garden offers 55 acres of beautiful gardens displaying over 8,500 different kinds of plants from around the world, some no longer found in their native habitats. With San Francisco’s famous fog and mild climate, the Garden enjoys a range of climatic conditions that exists in few other botanical gardens in the world, allowing it to grow and conserve a highly diverse and critically important botanical collection.

Visit year round for a bounty of seasonal highlights, including fall’s Cloud Forest bloom, winter’s Magnificent Magnolias; spring and summer’s WILD flower bloom; a century-old Redwood Grove; as well as other unique global collections.
