The Taubman Museum of Art is part of the lively metro mountain mix of arts, culture, and outdoor fun in the heart of downtown Roanoke, Virginia. We are located near the nation's oldest continuously operated Farmer’s Market, active trains, the historic Hotel Roanoke, locally owned shops, restaurants, art galleries, and theaters, and many other cultural attractions. Our permanent collection includes American, Southeast American, Regional, Visionary, and Folk Art with notable touring exhibitions from collections around the globe. Our contemporary building is a work of art and features a three-story atrium, balcony overlook to the Roanoke Star, eleven rotating galleries, and Art Venture, an interactive space for youth and families. Art Venture offers hands-on art making stations in painting, drawing, theater play, building, and printing. The Taubman Museum of Art offers free general daily admission sponsored in part by Appalachian Electric Power Foundation and Haley Toyota. We charge a small fee for banner exhibitions appearing in the Museum's Special Exhibition Gallery. Art Venture is free for children covered by Museum memberships; all other children are $5, and adult chaperones are free.
