The Y is committed to strengthening communities. Every day, we work side by side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income, or background, has the opportunity to have the Y experience.
We focus our work in three main areas: nurturing the potential of kids and teens, helping people live healthier lives, and supporting our neighbors. We believe these areas are key to bringing about meaningful change and strengthening communities throughout the Treasure Valley.

In the last decade, YMCA full-facility membership has grown from 4,894 to over 50,000 today.
The YMCA offers programs in over 90 sites community-wide.
One out of every two youth in Ada County is involved in at least one YMCA program.
In 1989, 978 individuals supported the Y with their time and talent. Today, more than 5,500 people volunteer at the Y, with approximately one-quarter of that number being youth.
The Strong Kids Campaign is the Y’s annual fundraising campaign to support financial assistance for children, adults, and families. In 2010, volunteers raised over $800,000 -- that same year, we provided more than $ million in financial assistance and program subsidies to our communities.
Strong Kids Campaign is as much a FRIEND RAISING campaign as it is a fundraising campaign. It's an association effort run by volunteers with campaigns running simultaneously throughout all of our Y branches. 100% of the funds raised in our community remain in our community. Donations to Strong Kids Campaign are specifically designated for local children and teens to participate in Y membership, youth activities, and events.
