History:
Over 40 years ago a Charlotte area lumberman had an idea to offer pre-finishing as a value added service for quality builders in the Southeastern US.

Wholesale lumber companies sent western red cedar, redwood, cypress, pine, and many other types of durable exterior building materials to be factory primed and prefinished on all sides in a factory controlled environment - something that couldn't be done effectively on construction jobsites.

Houses built with these quality materials immediately looked better and the finishes lasted longer. This process became the value added building standard for wood sided custom homes in the Southeast. Science has supported the belief that this process performs better long-term and adds value to quality architecture. Organizations such as the US Forest Service's Forest Products Laboratory and Canada's Western Red Cedar Lumber Association have recommended six-sided finishing of wood, as well as pre-coating of wood prior to sun exposure for maximum coating adhesion.
