Gateway Rescue Mission was founded by Captain Len Martin of the Jackson Fire Department in 1948. Captain Martin was compelled to help the homeless, and Gateway Rescue Mission remains faithful to the charge to this day. Offering hope through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Gateway Rescue Mission is committed to providing those in need with shelter, food, clothing, and rehabilitation. Our programs include 40 beds for men struggling with addiction, meals for our residents and a lunch that is provided 365 days a year to serve the homeless and hungry coming in from the streets. Check out our website at for more information or to donate to help us help those most in need.
Gateway Rescue Mission is registered with the IRS as a 501(c)(3) non-profit and religious organization, and is 100% funded by private donations from individuals, churches, foundations, and businesses. Sales of donated items at our thrift store located in Pearl, MS also helps to support our ministry.
